Open the affected Run to see why work is waiting and which actions are available. Start from Needs attention on the Playbooks Dashboard or find the Run under Playbook Runs.

Check the step and its status

Open the step to see its details and linked work. Use the available controls or the Actions menu. The controls depend on the Run status, the step status, and your permissions.

  • Blocked by a prerequisite. Check the earlier action and complete its work if it still applies. If the prerequisite can be bypassed, use Unblock step and record why. Any configured wait starts when you unblock it, and a manual hold still needs release.
  • Waiting for manual release. Use Release when the work is ready and the Run allows it.
  • Unassigned or awaiting assignment. Check the person or role shown on the step. Assign an eligible teammate to the client-team role if the client team is missing one. To change who owns the upcoming repeats in this Run, use Reassign… when available. Work already created keeps its assignee.
  • Overdue with linked work. Open the linked Task, Meeting, or other record and follow up there. Check whether it already exists before taking action to create anything again.

Unblock step dialog with a required Reason field. The dialog says scheduling and any manual release still apply.

Record why you are bypassing the prerequisite.

The Change upcoming assignee dialog lets you choose a person or role.

Reassignment applies to upcoming repeats of this action in the Run.

Handle a missed date

  1. If the Run is paused, review why it paused and resume it when it is ready. Resuming keeps the original schedule and leaves missed work for you to review.
  2. Open the missed step. If the work is still needed, select Start missed item when available. Review the result in the Run before taking another action.
  3. If the work no longer applies, choose Skip step when available and enter a reason. Skipping a step does not satisfy a prerequisite.

The Actions menu for a missed onboarding check-in shows Start missed item and Skip step.

Choose whether to start or skip the missed item.

Check missing work before retrying

If a creation attempt has an uncertain result, check the linked destination or your PSA first. A Task can exist even when its PSA ticket is unconfirmed. If a linked record was removed and you want to stop tracking it, use Dismiss missing item when available. Dismissing a missing item does not satisfy a prerequisite.

If you still can’t determine what happened, contact ScalePad Support with the client, Run, and action details so they can check the existing attempt.
