Playbooks is an add-on for ScalePad CS. If you want to try it, an administrator or someone with Manage Licensing can enable it for one eligible CS client at no charge. Contact your account manager about adding paid access to your subscription.

Try Playbooks with one client

The Playbooks preview in the all-clients view, with a Try Playbooks for free button.

Start from the all-clients Playbooks view.

  1. Open Playbooks in the all-clients view and select Try Playbooks for free.
  2. Choose an active client with CS access, then select Unlock Playbooks. Your included free CS client qualifies.
  3. Open that client’s Playbooks area to start a Run. Your user role must have permission to start Runs.

The Unlock Playbooks for free dialog with a CS client selected and the Unlock Playbooks button enabled.

Choose the client that will get complimentary access.

You can also start from an eligible client’s Playbooks area. If you already use the complimentary access for another client, review the warning before selecting Switch client.

If the previous client loses Playbooks access when you switch, its active Runs pause and the work they already created stays in place. If access is restored, open the Run and resume it when you’re ready.

Check access and permissions

  • Playbooks is missing or locked. Ask your administrator to check your ScalePad CS access and Playbooks permissions. If you are trying to run a Playbook for a specific client, check that the client has paid or complimentary Playbooks access.
  • You can build a Playbook but can’t run it. Playbooks permissions control authoring and publishing. Playbook Runs permissions separately control viewing, starting, and managing Runs.
  • You can see Run history but can’t start or resume a Run. You may have read access to the history while that client lacks execution access or your role lacks the required permission.
