Creating insights (New UI)

Create personalized Insights in the new UI

Create an account-owned Insight to monitor a standard your team needs to track across clients. The definition is shared across the account; a client view changes which results you see.

  1. Open Discover > Insights and choose the new Insight action, or open Settings > Features > Insights.
  2. Enter a clear Name and Description. State the risk and the action your team should consider.
  3. Select the Asset type. The available conditions depend on that selection and the options offered for your account.
  4. For each condition, choose a Field, Operator, and value. Select Add condition for additional criteria.
  5. Review the complete definition and select Create insight.
  6. Open the Insight from Discover > Insights and check its results after evaluation finishes.

Build a useful definition

Start with one question, such as which workstations exceed your replacement-age standard. Add warranty or software conditions only when those conditions are part of the same risk. Use the fields and allowed values actually offered by the form; changing the asset type resets the condition rows.

For example, a server replacement Insight could combine age, warranty status, and operating-system support conditions, if those fields are available. Multiple conditions narrow the definition. Validate the affected assets against known examples before using the count in a client recommendation.

Review current and future risk

Affected now lists assets matching the definition today. Forecasted projects matches at the selected future horizon; it is not a list of assets becoming compliant. The drawer offers 30, 60, 90, 180, and 365-day horizons. Use Include already affected assets to include or exclude current matches.

Permissions and changes

Creating or deleting account Insights requires the relevant Insight access and management permission. Client licensing and client access can limit visible results. A setup-required state means an integration or other prerequisite still needs attention; it does not establish that the client has no affected assets.

Existing custom definitions are managed from Settings > Features > Insights. To change the definition, create the replacement Insight with the revised conditions, validate its results, then delete the old custom Insight when it is no longer needed. Built-in Insights cannot be deleted through custom Insight management.
