Link Initiative opportunities in the new UI

Connect an Initiative to a PSA opportunity so your planning work points to the sales record. An active supported ConnectWise Manage, Autotask, or Halo PSA integration and a correctly mapped client are required. Available fields depend on the provider and your permissions.

  1. Select the client, open Roadmap, and open the Initiative.
  2. Open the Initiative's Opportunity link picker. Add that section from the drawer's available link actions if it is not already displayed.
  3. Search for an existing opportunity. Select the correct record and confirm Link this opportunity.
  4. Wait for the link to be saved, then review the linked opportunity card and its status.

Create an opportunity

  1. From the Opportunity picker, choose Create new opportunity.
  2. Review the name and description, then complete the provider's required fields, such as contact, agent, type, status, and estimated close date.
  3. Submit the opportunity. Creation also requests its link to the Initiative; a second attachment step is not needed.
  4. Wait for Pending to resolve and open the linked opportunity in the PSA to verify it.

Handle delayed or failed creation

Pending is a background-work status. If it continues or changes to an error, inspect the PSA and follow the message shown in the Initiative before attempting another creation. Do not assume a timeout means the PSA created nothing.

Use the linked card's detach action to remove the association. Detaching does not delete the opportunity in the PSA. A pending opportunity may still be created after the link is detached.

ConnectWise Manage financial sync

The ConnectWise Manage integration can send Initiative budget line items to Opportunity Forecast Items after linking. This is a Lifecycle Manager-to-ConnectWise flow; do not assume equivalent financial sync for Autotask or Halo. Review the linked opportunity and its forecast items in ConnectWise after the sync completes. The classic reference below describes the fee mapping.
