Creating and managing Findings

Record an observation about one client, connect it to planned work, and track it to a clear outcome.

Availability: Findings must be included in your account's approved release. Your client access and linked-work permissions continue to apply.

Findings and Insights

A Finding records an observation your team chooses to track. An Insight evaluates a defined condition. Insights do not automatically create or convert into Findings.

Create a Finding

  1. Open Discover > Findings for the intended client, or choose the client when creating from the account list.
  2. Select New Finding.
  3. Enter a concise title and description. For example: Workstations in the finance team are past their replacement age.
  4. Choose a severity: Critical, High, Medium or Low. Select the category and subcategory that best describe the observation.
  5. Optionally select an assignee and tags, then save.

An unassigned Finding remains unassigned. Confirm the client and classification before linking work.

Link Tasks or Initiatives

Open an active Finding and use its linked-work controls to select a Task or Initiative for the same client. You must be able to read that type of work, and the client must have the required access.

Removing a link leaves the underlying Task or Initiative unchanged. Closed Findings do not accept link changes. Open the Finding again before changing its linked work.

Close or reopen a Finding

  1. Open the Finding and choose its close action.
  2. Select a reason and optionally record an outcome explaining what happened.
  3. Confirm the close action. The Finding remains in the Closed list.

Use Dismissed for duplicates or mistakes. Findings are not deleted through the product.

Reopen a closed Finding when work resumes. Reopening clears the prior closure details and returns it to Open. Review the record before making further changes.

Review and troubleshoot

Use search, filters and grouping to focus on the client, severity, classification, tags or assignee you need. The default list shows Open Findings with the highest severity first.

If a linked item or client is unavailable, check your access with your administrator. If someone changed the Finding while you were editing, reload it and review the current state before retrying.
