Client Mapping: Connect clients from your integration to clients in ScalePad

Client Mapping lets you choose which clients to bring in from an integration and where their data belongs in ScalePad. Map a source company to an existing ScalePad client, create a new client, or leave the company out of sync. This keeps records for the same customer together even when your systems use different names.

Before you begin

You need permission to manage the integration and access to the source companies you want to bring in. Open the connection in Integration Center and look for Map clients. The options and source details available depend on the integration. Existing connections can also use the mapping workflow; you do not need to create a duplicate connection to review their clients.

Discover the clients available to your integration

  1. Open your integration in Integration Center and validate its credentials.
  2. In Map clients, start client discovery if it has not started automatically. Wait for discovery to finish.
  3. Review the companies returned by the integration. Discovery finds companies for mapping; it does not import their full device or contact inventory.

Source-side settings, such as selected company types or statuses, can affect which companies are discovered. Discovery does not erase accepted mappings just because a company was omitted from a later result.

Search by the source company name, external ID, or the name of its linked or suggested ScalePad client. Use the available source-detail filters to narrow the list. Values selected within one field are alternatives; filters on different fields narrow the results together. An unknown value means the integration has not supplied that detail.

Choose where each company belongs

Choose an existing client, create a new client, or leave a source company out of sync.
Choose an existing client, create a new client, or leave a source company out of sync.
  • Existing ScalePad client: select the customer already in ScalePad. Several source companies can map to the same client when they represent the same customer.
  • Create new client: enter the name for a client to create when the choice is accepted. A proposed client marked (new) can be shared by more than one source company.
  • Don’t sync: exclude that source company from the connection’s sync scope.

ScalePad suggests matches using company names, including common formatting differences. Check the suggestions before accepting them, especially when several clients have similar names.

Accept your choices

  1. Review or change the mapping on a row.
  2. Use the row’s Accept action to apply that choice, or select the rows you have reviewed and accept the selection.
  3. Confirm the accepted companies appear in the appropriate Mapped or Don’t sync view.
  4. Use the integration’s sync control to bring in data for the accepted scope.

Accepting applies the reviewed decisions and creates any new clients in those decisions. Unaccepted edits do not replace the connection’s accepted mappings. Accepting a selection leaves other pending rows available for review. Review the selection count when choosing a page of rows or all matching results.

Set Rules & Defaults

Open Rules & Defaults to choose the default for unmatched companies: create a client or don’t sync. The default guides discovery suggestions. Changing it does not accept companies or change existing accepted mappings. A choice you make for a specific row takes precedence over the default.

Review new companies and change mappings

Run discovery again when new companies become available or their source details change. Existing mapping decisions are retained. Review and accept the new rows, or accept a revised choice for an existing row.

Take care when changing a mapped company to Don’t sync: accepting the change removes this connection’s association with that client. Data supplied only by that connection can be removed during sync cleanup. Other integrations and their mappings are separate.

Troubleshooting

  • No companies found: check the credentials, accessible clients and integration filters, then run discovery again. An empty discovery result does not mean a complete inventory was imported.
  • A new name conflicts: select the existing client if it is the same customer, or give the new client a distinct name.
  • A selected client is unavailable: select a currently available client, review the row and accept again.
  • Your selection has changed or expired: reload the latest mappings, apply the search and filters again, and review the selection before accepting. Another user’s mapping change or a change to Rules & Defaults can require a fresh review.
  • Map clients is missing: confirm that the connection supports client-scoped discovery and that you have integration-management access. Contact ScalePad Support if the expected workflow is unavailable.
