Create, edit, and complete Tasks
Tasks are the new UI's follow-up work items, previously called Action Items. Open Tasks for All clients to manage your portfolio, or select a client and open Tasks for that client's work.
- Select New task.
- Select the client, enter a clear title, and add a description if more context is needed.
- Choose the assignees and due date, or leave them unset if the work has not been assigned or scheduled.
- Create the Task, then open it from the list to confirm its details.
Edit and track work
- Open a Task to view its detail drawer.
- Edit its title, body, assignees, or due date using the relevant field. Wait for each update to finish and check any save error before leaving.
- Use the completion control when the work is done. Use the Completed status filter to find completed Tasks and reopen a Task if needed.
An incomplete Task is Upcoming throughout its due day. It becomes Overdue after that day ends. Undated Tasks stay Upcoming, and completed Tasks stay Completed regardless of their due date. Open work includes Upcoming and Overdue Tasks.
Organize the list
Use Search and Filter to narrow the list by client, assignee, creator, or status. Use Display to choose grouping and sorting. Manual ordering lets you drag Tasks within their displayed group. Pin important Tasks to keep them ahead of unpinned Tasks.
Link planning work and PSA tickets
Use the Task drawer's + Add menu to add available link sections, such as Initiatives, Meetings, Goals, or PSA Ticket. Your access to each linked feature controls the available actions. A Task can link to one Initiative and one PSA ticket.
- Open the PSA Ticket picker to search for an existing ticket, or choose the create-new option.
- For a new ticket, complete the required fields offered by your connected PSA. Confirm the client mapping and integration prerequisites if the form is unavailable.
- After submission, wait for Pending to resolve before assuming the ticket exists. Open the resulting ticket link to inspect it.
Linking an existing ticket does not create another ticket. Detaching removes the Lifecycle Manager relationship and does not delete or close the PSA ticket. A pending request may still finish in the PSA after you detach it. If creation fails or the outcome is uncertain, check the PSA before creating another ticket. See Creating PSA tickets for prerequisites and troubleshooting.
Notes remain separate records for shared client context. See Managing Notes. Task creation and edits require the appropriate Task permissions and access to the client.
Tasks page overview
The Tasks page shows the open tasks across your entire client portfolio in one place. Use it to see how many tasks are outstanding, which ones are assigned to you, and which ones are overdue.
This article gives you an overview of the Tasks page and how to read the information it shows.
Accessing the Global Tasks page
