From identifying assets that have a plan of action or need a plan, to viewing and refining existing Insights, to taking a proactive approach in assessing your client’s infrastructure environment, the hardware console is where you can access information about every managed hardware asset within your organization.

Open the Hardware console by clicking Hardware in your left-hand navigation bar.

Asset data in Lifecycle Manager can come from multiple sources and the Hardware console displays relevant information, such as asset type, model, asset age and purchase date, and warranty expiry dates on each row to prioritize and address potential risks and issues.

Configurable asset list views

The Hardware console includes configurable columns, making it easier to customize the console to your individual needs by selecting the columns you need and excluding the ones you don't.

For example, you can include the Purchased column in an information query, such as renewal information and expiration dates, allowing you to create multiple initiatives based on the information provided. The addition of the Purchased column may show some assets older than agreed-upon asset replacement standards. So you might create two Initiatives: one Initiative for asset warranty renewals and a second Initiative for asset replacement.

Did we mention you can identify assets already in Initiatives or that you can add assets to Initiatives directly to Initiatives from the client hardware console?

While the Hardware console summarizes asset information, clicking on a hardware asset enables you to view detailed information, such as warranty information, coverage options, and even which integrations provided what data. This also includes assets where synced devices have no name data.

Within the Hardware console, there is also functionality to share asset details with co-workers.
