The Insights display isn't the only place where you can form Initiatives. You can bolster current Initiatives by incorporating other assets with similar issues into the equation in order to address certain problematic issues.

The following steps include the following sections:

How to add insights to existing initiatives

The details of predefined client insights can supplement existing Initiatives without having to create a new one.

As an example, assume you've been reviewing existing Initiatives (from the Initiatives list view), and you realize there isn't an Initiative for the insight "Workstation Warranty Coverage". At first, you draft an initiative without assets, then you add the assets from the insight later.

How to include an Insight into a draft Initiative that has no assets

Here are the steps to do that:

  1. From the Client > Initiatives tab, click the New Initiative button.

  2. Select the Workstation Warranty Coverage template and click Finish.

  3. From within the draft Initiative, click the + Add assets button.

  4. From the Add assets to this Initiative dialog, select from the list of suggested Insights (Expired warranties that can be renewed) and click the + Plus button.

  5. Select the desired Insight, then click Add selected assets.

  6. We add all assets included in the Insight to the Initiative in the Assets section.

-or-

  1. Click into the desired insight you want to take action on

  2. Select all available assets identified in the Insight

  3. From the Take action on this asset dialog, under the Add to heading, click + Existing Initiative and select from the list of draft Initiatives.

  4. Select the desired Initiative, then click Finish.

How to add un-actioned assets an existing initiative

Suppose you've been reviewing Insights and you know there is a draft Workstation Replacement Initiative underway. According to the current Slow workstations Insight, 60 assets are non-compliant and you want to see if there are any more assets that can be incorporated into the existing draft Workstation Replacement Initiative.

Here are the steps to add un-actioned assets to an existing initiative:

  1. Click into the desired insight you want to take action on (In this example, Slow workstations)

  2. From the detailed Insight Asset Console, select the Is not in Initiative data point filter

  3. Select all available remaining assets

  4. From the detailed Insight Asset Console, click the + Add to Initiative button.

  5. From the Take action on this asset dialog, under the Add to heading, click + Existing Initiative and select from the list of draft Initiatives.

  6. Select the desired Initiative, then click Finish.

  7. We add all selected assets to the Initiative in the Assets section.

How to manually add assets

Whenever a suggested Insight is added to an Initiative, all assets contained within the suggested insight are included. You can further customize the Initiative by adding or removing assets from the Initiative.

If you have a specific asset in mind to add to an Initiative:

  1. Within an existing Initiative, click the Add assets… button.

  2. In the Add assets to this Initiative dialog, enter the name or the serial number of the asset(s) you wish to add.

As you type a name or serial number, the autocomplete suggests matching assets in a drop-down section. Every character you enter refines the list.

  3. Select the asset to include in the Initiative and click the Add selected assets button.
Note that multiple assets can be added at one time.

The selected assets kl-HipFlow.mn and kl-OrbPoint.mn have been added to an initial Initiative of 4 workstations. Both manually added assets are not compliant with the initial insight rule of Workstations over 5 yrs old without warranty coverage, but Lifecycle Manager has the flexibility to add assets to an initiative that may fall just outside the rules of a particular insight, enabling a more proactive approach with clients.

Lifecycle Manager includes the User for each asset, as asset names/serials do not always help the client identify exactly which devices are being proposed for renewal.

To remove an asset from an initiative:

  1. Select the checkbox beside the asset in the asset table

  2. Click Remove asset

To remove bulk assets from an initiative:

  1. Select the bulk asset selection checkbox

  2. Clear any individual checkboxes you want to keep

  3. Click Remove
